The objective is to examine how technical analysis can be applied to market analysis so that you can test the same techniques with greater confidence across stocks in your charting database.

TUTORIALS IN APPLIED TECHNICAL ANALYSIS uses recent price data to illustrate notional case study trades and explain the ways that the tools of technical analysis can be applied to understand market behaviour. Like a weekly textbook, it uses selected charts to explain, for instance, what a stochastic tells us about market sentiment and how it applies to the data. All charts are created with Metastock, Guppy Traders Essentials or Ezy Chart and any indicator and search formulas used are given in these formats. Generally, the notional case study examples do not include any stocks held by the author, but if the stock is held, the authors interest is noted with an *.

As trading is about managing risk, TUTORIALS IN APPLIED TECHNICAL ANALYSIS also tracks a portfolio of notional case study teaching stocks selected from previous newsletter issues.
