INVESTING AND HEDGING
Because you want to protect your
profits in dangerous markets
GUPPY AND HULL TOGETHER
In dangerous markets investment strategies can face large
drawdowns as the stop loss point is well below the high point of the trend. In
the first section of this workshop Alan Hull
defines Active Investing as a medium to long term trading strategy that utilizes
both fundamental and technical analysis. To further enhance returns, good
investors can also use hedging strategies to protect investment profits against
large drawdowns. Traders also apply these strategies to protect and grow trading
profits. In the second session of this workshop, Daryl Guppy
explains how to develop hedging strategies and select the most
appropriate derivative and derivative trading strategy.

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVE
Understand how to implement Alan
Hulls Active Investing strategy. Alan will demonstrate how to construct and
actively manage your own Blue Chip portfolio using low cost, readily available
DIY investment tools. Learn how to protect and maximise profits using hedging
strategies. Daryl Guppy shows the advantages and disadvantages of different
derivatives and explains how to use them to construct effective hedging
strategies.
