CREATING
GMMA IN THE NEW CMC CHARTING PACKAGE
By Daryl Guppy
These notes show how to create a GMMA template in the new CMC charting
module.
1) First open a new chart. We use the Aussie 200 as the base chart. The
settings menu is located on the left panel of the chart display. Select
STYLE and then apply CANDLE. 2) 2) Next select the blue and red icon in
STUDIES. This will give you options for setting up your desired indicator
set. If you select the down chevrons you can select an indicator, but you
cannot add indicators. 3) The menu box as a SELECT STUDY option. Click the
down-arrow and select EMA. 4) The indicator options appear on the right of
the next menu box. It defaults to 20. Select the desired EMA value, 3, 5, 8,
10, 12, 15, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 60. Then select ADD TO LIST.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all the GMMA moving averages have been added.
Then select DONE. Continue to exit menu boxes until you return to the base
chart screen display The next step is to adjust the colours on the display.
Across the top of the chart is an annoying band showing the EMA values and
as the cursor moves the chart screen is covered with drop down details. We
will show you how to remove this a little later. We use this band as a
convenient way to change the GMMA colours. 5) Put the cursor on the EMA
value in the band at the top of the display. The cursor changes to a
screwdriver. Click to bring up a drop down menu. To change the colour of the
EMA select the COLOUR band in the upper section of the menu. If you select
the lower band the colour change will only apply to segments of the EMA.
Select DONE. Then select the next EMA value from the band across the top of
the screen.

6) Take these steps to remove the annoying indicator value overlay on the
chart. Select SETTINGS from the menu on the left side. Click the down
chevron to reveal the menu. 7) We prefer to use the settings as shown in the
screen shot. Unchecking “SHOW VALUE BOXES” removes the indicator value
overlay.

8) Once you are satisfied with the chart display and options then you can
save this as a default chart display, or as a template layout for future
use. Go to FILE, and SAVE LAYOUT AS. Give the layout a name, and select SET
AS DEFAULT LAYOUT. Now whenever a new chart is opened it will retain these
settings.
